Achromopeptidase is an extracellular protease isolated from the bacteria Achromobacter lyticus. It is a highly active enzyme with a broad specificity against Staphylococci, Streptococci, Clostridii, Leuconostoc, and some Gram-negative bacteria. Achromopeptidase is useful for the lysis of Gram-positive bacteria with resistance to lysozyme and is commonly used for the primary fragmentation of polypeptides in protein sequence analysis. It is specific to lysyl bonds, including Lys-Pro.

pH Range: 8.5-10.7

Optimum pH: 8.5-9

Activity: Full activity in the presence of 5 M urea or 0.1% SDS
