Description

Coelenterazine-h (also known as 2-(4-Dehydroxy) coelenterazine) is a specific and highly-sensitive intracellular luminophore that emits blue light when bound to calcium ions. Coelenterazine-h acts as a substrate for luciferases and can be used as a constituent of photoproteins. Approximately 20x greater luminescence than the native form.

USE
Coelenterazine h, a luminescent enzyme substrate for apoaequorin and Renilla luciferase, is a highly sensitive and a specific intracellular luminophore that is useful for measuring changes in levels of superoxide and Ca2+ in cells transfected with apoaequorin cDNA. Renilla luciferase and substrate coelenterazine has been used to detect protein-protein interactions as a bioluminescence donor in bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET). Like native coelenterazine, these derivatives can be used to reconstitute the aequorin complex both in vivo and in vitro, and it exhibits nearly 16-fold greater luminescence intensity as compared to the native Coelenterazine.
