Description

Originally isolated from a marine sponge, Fascaplysin is selective CYCLIN-DEPENDENT KINASE 4 INHIBITOR (in a ATP competitive manner). Selective CDK4/cyclin D1 (IC50 = 350 nM) inhibitor (in an ATP competitive manner). Fascaplysin is an inhibitor of Cdk6. Fascaplysin exert anti-tumor effects through apoptotic and anti-angiogenesis pathways. Fascaplysin has recently been shown to be a DNA intercalator.
