MnTMPyP pentachloride is a cell-permeable, manganese-porphyrin which acts as a superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic. It has displayed the ability to catalyze the dismutation of O2, even in the presence of excess EDTA and it also displays a protective effect against H2O2-mediated damage. Xanthohumol-induced transient superoxide anion radical formation triggers cancer cells into apoptosis via a mitochondria-mediated mechanism. Sulfonylurea Receptor-Dependent and -Independent Pathways Mediate Vasodilation Induced by ATP-sensitive K+ channel openers. Redox regulation of endogenous substrate oxidation by cardiac mitochondria.
