Description
MTT is a water soluble salt of Tetrazolium. Yields a yellowish solution when prepared in media or salt solutions lacking phenol red. By cleavage of the tetrazolium ring by dehydrogenase enzymes, dissolved MTT is converted into insoluble purple formazan.
