Description

Polyene antifungal antibiotic produced by Streptomyces noursei.

Nystatin is a polyene antifungal, antibiotic complex containing three biologically active components: A1, A2, and A3. It increases the permeability of the cell membrane of sensitive fungi by binding to sterols. It is a growth promoter.
