Description
Beauvericin (isolated from Beauveria bassiana) is a depsipeptide from the enniatin family. It shows activity against Gram-positive bacteria and mycobacteria. Also active against insects and brine shrimp.
Beauvericin allows transport of alkaline earth metal and alkali metal ions across cell membranes due to ion-complexing capability. Enhances antifungal activity of miconazole.
