Erythromycin C (3"-O-Demethylerythromycin A) is a minor co-metabolite of erythromycin produced by Saccharopolyspora erythreae. Erythromycin C exhibits a narrower spectrum of antibiotic activity and is much less active than erythromycins A and B.
