Tosyl Activated 4B-CL is used to couple primary amines, thiols, imidazole or tyrosine hydroxyl groups to the matrix. Tosyl Activated 4B-CL couples more rapidly and efficiently to sulfhydryl groups than to primary amines. Coupling of antibodies through reduced disulfide bounds in the hinge region is a popular way to couple without interfering with the antigen binding region.
