Reticulol was first described as a potent inhibitor of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase but more recent research has demonstrated a topoisomerase I inactivation mechanism. Reticulol also causes dose dependent inhibition of lung metastasis in the B16F10 melanoma model.
