Description
bis-Tris is a zwitterionic biological buffer used for biological and biochemical research. It is highly soluble in water and exhibits only a very small shift in dissociation constant. Its functional groups are involved to two structural families, the Bis(2-hydroxyethly) amine family and the Tris family. This buffer interacts with human liver fatty acid protein (FAB) and affects protein dynamics. Suitable for fraction of hemoglobin. The useful pH range for the buffer is 5.8-7.2 (pKa of 6.5 at 25℃)
Application
bis-Tris is used as a buffer for anion exchange chromatography; running buffer, gel buffer and sample buffer with different types of electrophoresis. Alternative to cacodylate, maleic acid and citrate.
