Description

Cellulase RS (also known as Onozuka RS) is an enzyme produced by mutant Trichoderma viride that was derived from the parent strain for Cellulase “Onozuka -R-10”. Cellulase RS has a very high activity for decomposing natural cellulose compounds.

Applications

This type of cellulase can be used to rapidly obtain protoplasts and can dissolve plant cell walls in a wide array of species.

USE
Cellulase RS can be used to gather protoplasts; can dissolve cell walls of many plant species. Cellulase is an enzyme isolated asperillus niger (a fungus) that catalyzes the hydrolysis of certain linkages in cellulose and other carbohydrates. It helps hydrolyze the endo-1,4-β-D-glycosidic linkages in cellulose, lichenin, barley glucan, and the cellooligosaccharides cellotriose to cellohexaose, which is very useful for research. It does not cleave p-nitrophenyl-β-D-glucoside or cellobiose. It also hydrolyzes xylosyl serine linkages in intact glycosaminoglycan from a core peptide.
Handling
Use in a chemical fume hood, with air supplied by an independent system. Avoid inhalation, contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid the formation of dust and aerosols. Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep away from sources of ignition. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure.
