(±)-Anatoxin A Fumarate is a very potent nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist. Its a bicyclic amine isolated from algae Anabaena flos aquae which have a high affinity to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Anatoxin A Fumarate is also derived from a group of Cyanobacteria. Anatoxin A Fumarate has major medical and pharmacological use. It is used in studying diseases characterized by low acetylcholine levels such as Alzheimer's, Parkinsons and muscular dystrophy.
