Antipain Hydrochloride is a protease inhibitor produced by Actinomycetes. Antipain inhibits papain, trypsin, cathepsin A/B and to a small extent, plasmin.
Antipain is more specific for papain and trypsin than is leupeptin. The inhibitory potency of antipain is 100 fold higher than that of elastatinal. Effective concentration 1-100 M.
