Carnosol is a naturally occurring phenolic compound found in rosemary with antioxidant and anticarcinogenic activity. It inhibits the formation of tumors in mouse models or carcinogenesis derived by irritants such as TPA and DMBA and inductions of COX-2 by blocking PKC signaling.
Carnosol has strong dose-dependent inhibitory effects against RSK2 (Ribosomal S6 Kinase) by suppressing its autophosphorylation, therefore it shows anticancer property. It also causes a significant decrease in both bacterial and yeast growth.
Applications:
- Antioxidant
- Antimicrobial
- Anticarcinogen
