Paclitaxel is an anti-tumor agent isolated from the bark of the yew tree. Tectorigenin sensitizes paclitaxel-resistant human ovarian cancer cells through downregulation of the Akt and NFB pathway. Weekly paclitaxel has limited activity in esophageal cancer.
The median survival, modest activity, and tolerance of therapy indicate that weekly paclitaxel may be an option in patients unable to tolerate combination chemotherapy. Paclitaxel Enhances TF Protein Expression and Surface Activity.
Isolated from Taxus brevifolia.
