SOB Broth is recommended for use in cultivation of recombinant strains of E. Coli. It is a nutritionally rich growth medium for use in the preparation and transformation of competent cells.
Preparation: Add 28 grams of broth in 1 liter of distilled water. Heat gently to dissolve the medium completely. Dispense in tubes and sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes.

- Casein Enzymic Hydrolysate: 20 g/L
- Magnesium Sulfate: 2.4 g/L
- Yeast Extract: 5 g/L
- Potassium Chloride: 0.186 g/L
- Sodium Chloride: 0.5 g/L
- Final pH (25°:C): 7.0+0.2
