Tyrphostin AG 1295 is a cell permeable selective inhibitor of platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF) tyrosine receptor kinase. It has no effect on EGF receptor autophosphorylation. Studies have suggested that AG 1295 can reduce cell division and DNA synthesis induced by nicotine in human aortic vascular smooth muscle cells.
